“There is no boring design work. There are only boring designers, or worse boring clients.”
That’s what we learned from a talk by Prof. Phil Cleaver at Black Box, Publika yesterday. Titled ’35 Years In Design’, we were happy to have our first batch of Entrepreneurial Design students to attend this event organised by Cutout in conjunction with MAP Fest 2014.
Prof Cleaver is England’s most profound and legendary graphic designer and author of ‘What They Don’t Teach in Design School’. Some of his notable works including designing corporate identities for BNI Bank and VISA, one of the most recognisable visual icons in the world.
This event is a good opportunity for students to learn to have a good understanding of project briefs and the importance of research to design effectively.
